Andreas Metzler

Andreas finished his Bachelor of Music at the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2004. He took lessons in Jazz from Heyn van der Geyn, Frans van der Hoeven, Arnold Dooyeweerd and Ernst Glerum.
He also studied baroque and classical music as a secondary course with Maggie Urquhart and Peter Stotijn.
He followed workshops from Jack de Johnette, Avi Honing, Kenny Werner, Scott Coley, Mark Dresser and many more.
He performed with Saskia Laroo, Hein van der Gaag, Joris Roelofs, Lars Dietrich, Michiel Borstlap, Shibly Band, Ton Art Ensemble, Nomy Rosenberg...
Since 2007 he is combo teacher for Jazz improvisation at the music school DJAM.

Bass Lessons

Andreas lives in Amsterdam and gives also private lessons for double bass and electric bass.
Because of his big experience of live performing in many diffrent styles like Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Free Jazz, Groove/Funk, Rock'n'Roll/Surf, Bossa Nova, Pop, Worldmusic, he can teach you in where your interests are.

Basic School Lessons

Andreas is also experienced teaching groups of children in a basic school.
He worked out a concept to bring children in the age between 6 and 12 into contact with music, music instruments, expression of music, improvisation, notation and rythm.
One course is 6 weeks for groups between 1 and 10 children.

Combo Lessons

Andreas also works as a band coach and combo teacher. All instruments are welcome. If you want to learn how to play in a band and how to improvise or how to play in the rythm section, contact Andreas.
The lessons will find pace at MuzyQ and will be courses from 6 times with a minimum of 4 students.
